Portraits of Grammy Winner, Ricky Kej, his beautiful wife Varsha and of course his shiny new Grammy Award.
Pardon the "click-baity" title, I couldn't resist :) Anyone who remotely knows me, will be aware of my penchant for such humour (Remember to read the word "penchant" with your nose in the air).
But seriously, I had the pleasure of shooting the first photographs of my dear friend Ricky Kej the moment his spanking new trophy had landed up. Ricky, as all of us know, won the Grammy for Best New Age Album, along with South African flautist, Wouter Kellerman for their album "Winds of Samsara". He did India proud in being one of the handful of Indians to have ever won a Grammy.
So if you didn't already know, unlike an Oscar, Grammy winners do not get to take the trophy home on the day of the event. A unique handcrafted piece is made for each winner which reaches them a few months later. Ricky pinged me as soon as his landed up. Immediately after the unboxing, we got down to taking these photographs.
